Florian is excited to share a new large ensemble project he has been tirelessly working on over the past year. In collaboration with Canadian saxophonist and composer Quinsin Nachoff, Florian has composed new music for chamber orchestra and jazz quartet. From October 7th to 11th, they will be in Montréal to rehearse, perform, and record these works.
The compositions are centered around the theme of water, exploring its life-sustaining role, natural beauty, and its destructive power in storms and floods. The orchestra will feature 18 strings, alongside flute, clarinet, French horn, and percussion, with exceptional artists from across North America.
Florian and Quinsin will premiere the project at a special concert on October 9th, as part of the Off Jazz Festival in Montréal. This intimate studio performance, featuring live video recording, will be the only opportunity to experience the music live in the near future.
