On June 3rd Florian’s new album, “Desert Bloom” with Andrew Downing on bass and Nick Fraser will be released on Alma Records. The album consists of 7 new original compositions and 2 arrangements. We cannot wait to share the new music with you.

Today the first single from Florian’s new album “Desert Bloom” was released. The full album will come out on June 3rd on Alma Records.

On June 20th, a new international performance series curated and hosted by Florian Hoefner and bassist Jim Vivian will launch at the Arts and Culture Centre in St. John’s, NL. The launch concert will feature saxophone legend, Jerry Bergonzi and revered NYC-based drummer, Allan Mednard.

After a forced performance hiatus of over 10months Florian Hoefner will tour Newfoundland’s Arts and Culture Centres with bassists Jim Vivian in late January / early February 2021.

Florian is part of “Sea to Sea”, Christine Jensen’s project for “Tenacity”, this year’s free online edition of the Ottawa Jazz Festival. Christine put together a tentet of jazz musicians from across Canada to perform her arrangement of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now”.

The full set from the Florian Hoefner Group’s performance at Melbourne International Jazz Festival 2019 is now available for streaming on ABC Jazz.

First Spring was nominated as Jazz Album of the Year and Instrumental Album of the Year at the 2020 East Coast Music Awards. The awards show and conference will be held in St. John’s from April 29th to May 1st.
